And the nominees are in…… Yes folks.. the Oscar Nominations were announced this morning and oh what a glorious travesty it is…

Now for those of you who know me, you know that I minored in film in college with aspirations of maybe doing something with it some day. Although the chances of that happening are as likely as me being tall enough for the kiddie rides at Disneyland… But a guy has to dream big!!!

Getting to the point.. There were some great calls and some ..”Were you slapped so hard at birth it rendered you fat, ugly, and extremely stupid for life” calls in the nominations.

Good:

The nominees for best picture are "The Departed," "Babel," "Letters From Iwo Jima," "Little Miss Sunshine" and "The Queen."

The nominees for best actor are Forest Whitaker ("The Last King of Scotland"), Leonardo DiCaprio ("Blood Diamond"), Ryan Gosling ("Half Nelson"), Peter O'Toole ("Venus") and Will Smith ("The Pursuit of Happyness").

Bad:

The nominees for best supporting actress are Jennifer Hudson ("Dreamgirls"), Adriana Barraza ("Babel"), Cate Blanchett ("Notes on a Scandal"), Abigail Breslin ("Little Miss Sunshine") and Rinko Kikuchi ("Babel"). Where’s Jaden Smith in this one???

Imagine that.. The Christian Right.. I mean… U.S. political system is already picking on the black candidate with a funny name, and accusing him of muslim radicalism.. I bet you $1, CNN had to ask Obama how to spell “debunk.”

“Ha, ha… you have to mock Jews, women, and minorities with ambiguous political rhetoric, while we can stone our wives to death for showing their ankles!!!”

Personal:

Things are starting to settle into a rhythm for me and I find that I will probably be able to dedicate at least 3-4 entries a week. I apologize for leaving things so open ended for long, but I will do my best to keep posting with greater frequency.
