So long.. .front foot leads the back one...

Tonight is the last night Megan and I live in San Francisco. We became best friends here, we fell in love here, we made our first home together here, and got engaged here. I will look back on my 3.5 years in San Francisco with the most amazing sense of growth and comfort. There were hard times, and there were amazing times, and now it is time to make that same happiness in a new place with my soon to be bride.

I once heard a saying along the lines of.. "Live in CA, but not for too long as it will make you soft. Live in NYC but not for too long because it will make you too hard. "

Well I'm awake- with eyes wide open and heart is the same place.... Not to hard, and not too soft... I think I'm getting to be just right.

Moving 1 Gordon 0

It is official... Moving wins... It has beaten me like a (7- year-old) red-headed little girl.. I can't decide what I hate more.. packing the boxes that need to be shipped or dragging the endless bags of trash to the garbage.

Moral of the story is... not matter how well you think you're doing in life.. Until you can afford to have people come to your home, pack your house up, and ship it for you... You're not doing well enough!

I am SO excited for this week to be over.

Wicked pissahh for next season..

If there is a G-D in heaven above, he will not let this happen!!!!

Now that the regular season is but a memory… The trade rumors and speculation are huge. The Red Sox finished a dismal season with a lot injuries and even more buzz surrounding what will happen to Manny and Trot…

A-Rod had the chance to come to Boston and declined in order to play for the Spankees. I sincerely hope that he chooses to stay with them or go elsewhere. While I know the bat (once it gets going again) would do well in a park as small as Fenway.. I am not the sort of person who thinks that one should turn the other cheek and just let “business be business.” I really hope that Epstein and the owners have more integrity and longevity of vision than to invest in Alex Rodriguez.

Alfonso Soriano – although a former Spankee – is so far removed from pinstripes (which I liken to the Nazi swastika or SS stripes) that he could be welcomed to Boston with open arms. There are PLENTY of young prospects out there that would make an attractive addition to the Red Sox.

I say – put Trot, Manny, and Pena together in a 3 team package deal and get some young and powerful bats in the lineup and some fresh arms in the rotation.. But hey… I’m just one Wicked Haahrd cawww Saawwww Fan out of a nation of many.

The latest and greatest...

There is so much that has been going on that I don't know where to start. Lets go with sports, news, music, personal news, and LOST...

Sports:

I am the newest and biggest Tigers fan around.. In the absence of the Red Sox I support anyone who shows the Spankees for what they are.. Overpaid choke artists...

I personally hope that the Oakland A's win it all. Although they are AL EAST competitors... Having lived in the Bay Area for the last three years and having gone to my fair share of games in Oakland.. I hope they win it all.

I have finished dead last in my fantasy league week in and out going into week 5. Hopefully I can start to rebound and win some weeks going forward.

News:

N. Korea still sucks at life. U.S. politicians are on the same playing field as priests in that they are both still actively pursuing underage men... and yeah... that's about all I got today.

Music:

The new Trey album 17 bars.. SUCKS! This is by far the worst he has put out as a solo artist. The new MMSW album.. AMAZING!!!

Personal news:

This past Friday, October 6th 2006- I accepted a new position/ promotion within the same company I work for now in the NJ office. This is a great move for me professionally, and makes a lot of people happy. While I never thought I would want to live in NJ as an adult- my family are there, my new in -laws are a little bit north in New York State, two of my closest friends are in New York, one of them in New Jersey, and it is the right time to be near to all the people that Megan and I have been missing dearly. Megan can now actively begin applying to grad programs that she is interested in, and we can embark on a new chapter in our soon to be married lives together.

We will be sad to leave San Francisco (we really love this city) and some of our close friends. We look forward to trips back here to visit family and friends, and to see San Francisco as visitors rather than residents.

LOST:

Season III premier = amazing! The opening 5 minutes were worth the wait. If you didn't see the video on youtube.com this summer that explained what Dharma is and what the island/numbers/research's purpose is... Go look for it.. It will make this season far more worth while to you. Search Alvar Hanso video...

Reminiscing and loving it…

I am having a rough week and decided this morning that it would be an all PHISH morning… I have it slated in my Itunes to play the following albums back to back.

Picture of Nectar. Billy Breathes. Farmhouse. Rift. Junta. Hoist. Hampton Comes Alive.

Go back to December of 1995… Mullins Center.. .UMASS Amherst. The night I learned that I truly loved music- and these guys were the reason why…

12/04/95 Mullins Center, Amherst, MA

Set I: Julius, Gumbo, The Divided Sky, Punch You in the Eye, Stash, My Mind's Got a Mind of its Own, Axilla, The Horse> Silent in the Morning, Hello My Baby, While My Guitar Gently Weeps

Set II: Timber, Sparkle, Ya Mar, Run Like An Antelope, Billy Breathes, Cars Trucks Buses, You Enjoy Myself, Sample in a Jar, Frankenstein

Encore: Bouncing Around the Room, Rocky Top

(This morning) I was a meager hour into the playlist when TWEEZER REPRISE started.. I was instantaneously taken back to being 17 years old and standing in a basement in a Worcester Massachusetts house (1996) with my Epiphone Scroll around my neck (guitar). I was standing next to John Clarke (bass) Brett Robbins ( guitar) Dan Bourgeois (piano) Dana Etree (Drums) Shane Holloway (wire coat hanger) and thus the jam started with the first note… We played that song for what must have been about 10 minutes straight, and it was at that point that I knew there was a G-d.. Because the sheer power of that TWEEZER REPRISE cover was enough to make me feel invincible.

(As the playlist progresses) Fast-forward a year later (1997)… Standing in Aroostook County Maine. The Great Went… 70,000 plus people…I happen to come across (now, my brother-in-law) grooving in the mud… Just as “Character Zero” begins…. And at that moment the world was a perfect place.. Even if only for two days.. it was a time I will never forget- that I got to share with an amazing friend. Although we didn’t go to the show together- I really loved the fact that my sister’s boyfriend and I got to experience a once in a lifetime event together- meeting by happenstance.

I’m loving Thursday morning…
