Howdy y'all.

Sorry for the lack of blogging lately.. Between visitors, wedding planning trips back to the East Coast, work, medications, tests, doctors appointments, and THE GLORY OF G-D (aka football season having started, and my FFL having started too) I have been a little out of sorts.
In truth I have had nothing to really write about. I chose intentionally to not post yesterday – regarding 9/11/01 because I just didn’t want to add to the collective sadness of the nation.

I did however want to share a response to an e-mail I got yesterday. A friend of mine that I have known since moving to America is having a tough time. Recently she broke up with her long time boyfriend and needed to vent and have someone listen to her.

“Thanks Shaun,I know that took a little chunk of time out of your day. I am still atwork! but you know what I really have found a wonderful place to work, afield I love, a boss who is a friend and a mentor and I can really devotemyself to learning my craft.
I am printing out your email so I can really read and absorb it when I havesome time this evening. I have to tell you that especially today, onSeptember 11, thinking about human connection, it is so nice to feel thatsomeone else is supporting you in their own way.”

I found this to be really comforting that I am able to provide some sort of solace to my friends- however frequently or infrequently we speak.

I try to make every day a good day- and although I care for my friends and family- that is primarily dedicated to the love of my life- My Megan. It is through her friendship, love, and support that I am able to be the best version of myself that I have ever been.

In conversation today with a friend I am playing golf with this weekend- in reference to the course we are playing..

"That course bent me over and gave me a prostate exam last time.... I am looking for some payback"
